With Jesus in the School of Prayer

I'm praying for you this morning. Prayer is so powerful. It is the greatest privilege of every believer. I am continually amazed at the prayer life of our Lord. He prayed often. He prayed continually. He prayed well. It was out of His lifestyle of prayer that He made decisions, spoke to the storm and calmed it, healed the sick, raised the dead, commanded demons to leave. From His communion with the Father He loved His disciples, even when they failed Him. From His time in earnest prayer, He was able to be resolute in completing the will of the Father. He did nothing without prayer.  He only spoke what He heard the Father speak, He only did the will of the Father. In His times of prayer, He continually consecrated Himself to the will of His Father and to the Father's love. And now, those who are  truly His followers, must truly follow His example of prayer, communion and consecration.  It's exciting!

We not only have the  example of our Master Teacher, but also His instructions on prayer in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John! Understanding its necessity for every believer, it was a topic He spoke of often! Meditate on the red-letter words concerning prayer and you will be amazed!

When you think about prayer,  keep in mind that through His sacrificial death and resurrection, Jesus'  blood made a way for us to have access to pray to The Father and to come into His presence. Oh the magnificent privilege that we can "come boldly to the throne of Grace to find mercy and grace to help in a time of need." (Hebrews 4:16) We were once separated from God, but now His blood has given us access to Him! The Creator of all things, the God of the universe desires us to abide in His presence, to take our place in prayer. Incredible!!

And  remember Jesus said that when He left this earth, He would send the Holy Spirit to be with us forever?  And He did!!! And now the precious Holy Spirit lives and abides in us and teaches us how to pray. He will direct us in our praying and orchestrate the manifestation of God's will.

God responds to  the call of His children. He responds to their cry of faith. He has established prayer to be the means by which His purposes are demonstrated in the earth and in our lives. Remember this, everything we can see or experience right now is subject to change. He is the Master of Breakthroughs!  He interrupts situations as we call on Him in prayer! His is the Name above every name. Don't be anxious about anything but pray about everything. (Phil 4) Talk to God! Ask and keep on asking.   Seek and keep on seeking. Knock and keep on knocking. (Matthew 7:7,8) Until when?  Until you see a cloud the size of a man's hand on the horizon! (1 Kings 8:44) The rain is coming.  The impossible is becoming possible. Jesus said everyone who asks receives, all who seek, find and to everyone who knocks the door is opened. Continue in prayer!
