Strength through praise

In Romans 4 is a wonderful account of Abraham, who is called the Father of Faith, and his journey of trusting in the grace of God while keeping His eyes fixed on the promises of God. Even against all hope in what he could see with his natural eyes, He believed. He did not waver in his faith, but grew strong in faith. When it came to the promise God had given him about becoming the Father of many nations, even though his own body was very old and "as good as dead" he did not focus on his natural weakness. This is a great lesson for us today! So many overwhelming and impossible circumstances surround us, yet we can focus on the truth of God's promises and we can grow strong in our faith, knowing that He who promised is faithful.

Actually it says in verse 19 that even though he thought about, understood the fact that having a baby would be impossible, considering his age and the "deadness of Sara's womb" at her age, he did not become weak in faith. Faith sees the natural impossibilities, but believes the promise of God. I love verse 20 that says "Yet, with respect to the promise of God, he did not waver in unbelief, but grew strong in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully assured that what He had promised, He was able able perform."

Another translation says this:"He grew strong and was empowered by faith as he gave praise to God.."
As He gave praise to God, He grew strong
As He gave praise to God, He grew strong
As He gave praise to God, He grew strong.
Today we can see our faithful God and put praise in our mouth. We can lift our voice of praise and thanksgiving and worship to our magnificent faithful Lord.  We can lift our hands to Him and praise Him often. Spend time praising Him daily, and throughout the day, and in the night. If you run out of words, pick up the book of Psalms and learn from David, who knew well how to praise God. As we praise Him,  the weakness caused by our concern for our natural circumstances  and limitations is swallowed up by God's strength...Strength to believe for the impossible and live boldly for Him. Let's be intentional about our lifestyle of PRAISE!
