Lifewords strength to strength series 16 of 30...abiding

lifewords strength to strength series 16 of 30
strength in abiding
Jesus Christ is our All in All today. He is the All Sufficient One. He is the God Who is More Than Enough. He is our Rock, our Fortress, our Deliverer, our God our Shield . . . our STRENGTH. (Psalm 18:2) Psalm 27:1 says that "the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?"  Psalm 73:26 My flesh and heart my fail; but God is the strength of my heart. He is our Strength. We can learn the lesson of the branch, abiding in Him, and His strength will be ours. Jesus instructs us in John 15 "Abide in Me, and I in You . . . . am the Vine; you are the branches, Whoever abides in Me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing."

Abiding in the Lord is a learned skill, available to all. Here are a few things about abiding. 1. The Teacher of this skill is the Holy Spirit. We can ask the Holy Spirit to teach us how to abide in the Lord day by day, moment by moment.... and He will.  2. Remember that Jesus is the Word of God. As we abide, dwell in, spend time in the Word, we are abiding in Him. Make God's Word the priority of your life and give yourself to the study and meditation of it.  3. Abiding in Him is Worshiping Him. A lifestyle of worship is a lifestyle of abiding. 4.  Abiding in Him is through a habit of prayer. Praying without ceasing is abiding without ceasing  5. Abiding in Him is learning to obey Him in all, yielding to His leading. 6. Abiding in Him is being engaged in that which is most important to Him...loving people, He came to seek and save that which was lost. He came to destroy the works of the enemy on this earth. He came to bring the love of the Father to earth and reconcile man back to fellowship with Him. The more you give yourself to ministering to others, the more you will learn abiding. 7.  If He is the Head of the Church and we, the Church, are the Body, abiding in Him also means that as we connect ourselves to the Body of Christ with other believers, we are abiding in Him. One Body.

Abide in the Lord today, He is YOUR STRENGTH without measure.
