Knowing our King

lifewordslifewordslifewords 7.09.10

Hello on this beautiful Friday!  I prayed for you this morning and it is a great privilege because prayer is powerful!  The Name of Jesus is powerful!   All is well, because He is Lord of all today.
Today's "lifewords" are about knowing our King.  It's a little longer  reading today, but worth it. I pray that we will truly know our matchless Jesus.  Love, amy

Who do YOU say Jesus is?
It's a new day, full of opportunities to trust in the Name of the Lord our God! His Name is the Name above every name that is named, in Heaven and on Earth. Jesus!   We must know Him, and submit all that we are to His Lordship. He is so worthy of our praise!   When we know Him, our hearts will be full of continual praise and adoration! I keep thinking about our Lord asking the disciples, "who do people say the Son of Man is?" They gave numerous answers.....Then He asked his disciples, "Who do you say that I am?" It is such an important question!  It is a question, I believe, that He asks you and I today!  "Who do YOU say I am" The answer will determine our eternal destiny, how we live out this life on earth, and how we impact this world in His Name. Simon Peter had the answer. "You are the Christ. The Son of the Living God!" And remember how Jesus responded? He said, "Blessed are you Simon Barjona! For flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but  My Father in Heaven." At that moment, because Peter saw who Jesus was, the way he lived his life was changed forever and his purpose became clear.

It is so important what we believe about Jesus!  We must see Him in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.  We must know who He said He was, and is. We must discover Him for ourselves, and only the Father can reveal Him to us.  The Father delights to reveal His Son to His children through the power of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit on the inside of us is our personal Teacher.  I am praying that He radically opens up our spiritual eyes to really understand who Jesus is!  And as He does, we will be able to live for His glory and proclaim Him to the world. He wants us to pursue Him, seek after Him.  Remember yesterday's   scripture from Psalm  9: 10? That  those "who know His Name" will be able to fully put their trust in Him.  And then it goes on to say that the Lord will be found by those who seek Him. He will be found by all who seek after Him.  It seems that our seeking precedes the finding.  Think about
Jeremiah 29:12.  "Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me and I will hear you.  You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart."   Is it possible that  He is drawing us to a deeper level of seeking Him? Jesus promised this:  "Ask and you will receive, seek and you will find, Knock and the door will be opened."  Mat 7:7   Oh that David's  cry in Psalm 119:10  would be our cry this day! "With my whole heart I seek You: let me not wander from your commandments!"  How do we seek, where do we  look? We seek for Him in His Word. Jesus is the Word. Spending time in the living Book of Life is spending time with Him. We seek Him in  prayer. We seek Him as our hearts draw near to Him in sincere Worship. Our seeking after Him,  our pursuit of Him in His Word, our searching for Him, our moving expectantly toward Him  will most assuredly lead  to Him being found by us. Then, we must go beyond finding Him, to knowing Him.

Oh that we would know Him in the power of His Ressurection. He
is the Eternal God.  He is the Son of God. He is the Word that became flesh. He is the Creator of all things. He is our Redeemer, who spent His precious blood to rescue us.  When we truly have this revelation of Him, we will be full of thankfulness, praise and joy every day of our life. He  is our Savior, who died for us and paid the penalty of the sin of all mankind. He died for us and rose again that we might have eternal life. Knowing that He is the One Savior of the Word will cause us to share Him with all. He is the One in whom is all authority in heaven and in earth, and when He left this planet he commanded us to go in His Name and preach this Gospel to the entire world.

He wants His church to KNOW HIM.   He does not want a weak, defeated, fearful Church!  He wants sons and daughters confident in who He is, who will rise up in boldness to reveal Him to the world. He is the Name above all Names. The King of Kings. The Lord of Lords.  He came to destroy all the works of the enemy. He is the Head of the Church, our Commander in Chief! The Lord mighty in battle!  At the same time He is the  Good Shepherd who cares for us and leads us, and prepares a table before us in the presence of our enemies. He is the Friend that sticks closer than a brother, who will never leave or forsake us.  He  is our Healer. He is the same yesterday, today and forever! He is the Living Water! He is the Bread of Life. He is the Bridegroom of the beautiful spotless Bride of Christ. Do you say today, "Jesus!  You are the Light of the World and in You is no darkness!  Therefore I walk in the light  this day!  Jesus! You are my Prince of Peace!  I receive the peace of God that passes understanding today!  Jesus! You are my Advocate today. Thank you for forgiveness and cleansing as I repent of sin.  Oh Jesus!  I say you are my Wonderful Counselor, thank you for wisdom and direction! Jesus, Who was and is and is to Come of whom every knee will bow and every tongue confess that You are Lord to the glory of God the Father! You are our All in All......

What we believe about Jesus, how we know Him, who we say that He is, will determine how we live this life He has given us.   Our Father will reveal Jesus to us as we seek after Him. When we understand and know Him we will never have another depressed day. We will wake up each day, confident in who our Savior is.  And we will proclaim His true matchless Name to the world. Who do You say that He is today?
