Be encouraged today because you are loved with an everlasting love!  You are chosen by God, He knows your name and the days of your life. His mercies are new every morning. I prayed for you this morning that you would experience His presence as you abide in Him and see Him as you meditate on His Word!  You are strong IN HIM...........Love, Amy
Oil for the Journey!

In the 25th chapter of  Matthew is the account of the Ten Virgins.  You remember that they all took their lamps, in anticipation of the awaited
bridegroom. The wise gals brought extra oil with them, while the foolish just brought their lamps.  When the bridegroom finally arrived, the wise virgins  had plenty of oil to keep their lamps burning. The foolish ran out of oil, so their lamps went out.  No more fuel. They really wanted to borrow some from their wise friends but, sadly,  there was not enough, so went to buy more. While they were searching for the precious oil, they missed the bridegroom and the wedding feast. It went from bad to worse when the door was closed and  bridegroom said he did not even  know them. Those who were ready with oil went into the marriage feast with the beloved groom. Tragic news for the foolish virgins.... but great news for us today because we can respond to the Lord's beckoning to stay alert, stay prepared, and get the oil necessary for this hour! The oil was the fuel for the lamps. The fuel was essential for the lamps to continue to do their job in lighting the way. No fuel, no ability. Every day we must get our own "oil", fuel for the journey, strength for the days ahead, in preparation for the coming of our King. The Lord's supply of fuel is limitless as we intentionally connect with Him in prayer, delighting in daily meditation of His Word,  a lifestyle of worship and learning to abide in Him.

The reservoir of His oil is never depleted and is ours in abundant supply, to the degree we will make the decision to get it. In these days, just as in this account, we can't rely on someone else's oil.  We have to get our own supply! Can you hear our Lord's urgent plea to the disciples as He was in the garden...."Can you not tarry with me one hour in prayer?" He knew the "oil" that would be needed for the moments just ahead and the days ahead. We can't be asleep. We must realize that there's no oil supply in the empty cisterns of this world.  Remember  the "oil" in Psalm 23:5? "You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies, you anoint my head with OIL; my cup overflows.  Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me,all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever." The Lord invites us to abide at His Table, where the supply of oil for the journey is  continually abundant. Now, not later!
