Come to Me....I will give you rest

lifewordslifewordslifewords 08.20.10
HI and it's a great Friday!  I just can't tell you how much it means to me to be able to pray for you every morning. Prayer is so amazing. It is our privilege and our mandate.  Prayer brings the will of God into situations, interrupts chaos with peace, imposes love where there is strife and division, supplies wisdom where there is confusion and destroys the weaponry of the evil one.  Fervency and Faith in the Name of Jesus, the Word of God, and the direction of the Holy Spirit ensure powerful prayers!  Jesus said ask! He said pray!  Jesus Himself prayed often and well. You can count on my prayers for you. In today's Lifewords, we continue to meditate on the RedLetterWords! Have an awesome day. Remember that you are His beloved one!
Jesus said "Come to Me....I will give you rest!"
Great news today! Our Lord does not want His people stressed out! Today we can  choose joy, choose peace, choose faith, choose to believe that the Word of our King and His faithfulness is more powerful than any temporary circumstance that is subject to change. Believers  should be the most joyful people!  Did you ever notice that stress and anxiety can suffocate our faith and drive us into survival mode instead of experiencing the incredible adventure of this life in Christ that we have been given. Stress can hinder us in our desire and ability to minister to others.  Stress can affect our worship, our relationship with the Lord and our relationships with the people in our lives and our health. Let's declare war on it! I love these awesome Jesus Words in Matthew 11:28. He says, "Come unto Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest."  Wow! Even now He invites us to come to Him..all of us who are weary, heavy laden, anxious, stressed out.....He will exchange all this for His rest!  Then He adds an important KEY that will help us so much in our lives...He says, how about this, instead of your heavy ladenness...  "Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you shall find rest for your souls.  For My yoke is easy and My load is light."  He freely offers the greatest exchange!  Our heavy yoke for His light yoke and load. He wants us to come to Him. Spend time with Him. Find rest and refreshing in Him! Throw off stress and worry and be filled afresh with His presence, His love, His peace, His joy!   Remember in John 14:27  Jesus, the Prince of Peace, says, "Peace I leave with you: My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful..."   Knowing the propensity we would have to be troubled and fearful, He reminds us of His gift to us and says Don't be troubled!! Are there battles, challenges, difficulties, storms and trials? Many. But His peace anchors us as we pass through.
The life of a believer is marked by  the joy and victory and courage and love of our King.  We don't draw back, laden down with heaviness. No!
We choose to exchange our  heavy yoke for His light one.  We choose to take our thoughts captive to the obedience of Christ.  We choose to fix our eyes on His Word and His faithfulness.  We choose to obey Him.  We can receive His wisdom for every situation in our lives. We  can choose to do as Paul says in Phil 4:6 to "be anxious for nothing......but in everything.....pray!"  Phil 4:7 says that this "peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, shall guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus." You can't get this peace from the world.  This is the peace our Lord gives us. He is our peace. Remember in Psalms it says "He will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is fixed on Him."  What does Jesus say we are to do when we are heavy laden?  He says, Come to Me!  Come to Me!  Come to Me my beloved one. Abide in Me, and be released from your heavy load!  I AM your All Sufficient One. Yes! I say let's come to Him continually and often and exchange our heaviness for His joy! Let's come to our Lord right now and recieve His peace and refreshing! Though the battle rages around us,  though the pressures and trials of this life try relentlesslessly to overwhelm us with anxiety, His abiding peace will repel fear and enable us to complete the journey well. His presence in us will bring peace to those around us today. Oh our wonderful Prince of Peace! Lord, we come to You.
