Jesus said, "Love..."
It's a beautiful Thursday and it was such a privilege to be able to pray for you and your family today. You are so loved by our God. He calls you His masterpiece, His beloved, His very own. He not only knows your name, but that name is written in the Book of Life. Nothing can separate you from His love today.  Wow! He loves you with an everlasting love.  Through our Savior you have been redeemed, rescued, set free, brought out of darkness into light, from death into life, from hopelessness into joy and peace. Enjoy His love today.  Whatever your temporary circumstances, you can rejoice knowing that He is the Lord of all. Allow His love to so fill you, that it overflows to all around you. He wants to touch lives through YOU today. Incredible. Incredible. Incredible. Don't forget to pray much. Faith filled praying in the Name of Jesus is the daily job and great privilege of every believer.

As you know, we have been focusing on our amazing Savior, learning about Who He is.  Psalm 9:10 says that "those who know Your Name put their trust in You," and I feel that in order for us to trust Him, to love Him, to serve Him, we must KNOW HIM.  We know Him through worship, through prayer, through fellowship with the Body of Christ.  Most of all, we know Him through His  amazing, incredible Word. We discover Him as we study the Bible.  The Bible is the living Word of God and the Holy Spirit is our Teacher who illuminates our understanding. I pray that today He will continue to reveal Himself to each one of us.  I truly want to know Him and I know you do also!

In the past months, we have seen Jesus as the Word, our Savior, our Shepherd, the Light of the World, the Servant of all, our Redeemer, the Resurrection, the Bread of Life, our Victory, the Author and Finisher of our Faith, wonderful Counselor............there are so many facets of His nature, like a radiant Sardis stone, that we could study Him for all of our days and continue to be amazed by Him! Today I want to focus on some of our Savior's most important Words in Matthew 22:37-39. "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.  This is the great and first commandment.  And the second is like it; you shall love your neighbor as yourself." Every believer should memorize this verse, meditate on it and daily ask the Lord for His help in truly obeying it.
He spoke this to the religious leaders, who knew the 10 commandments and the entire Law.  He was saying that it's not about keeping the Law, we can never keep all the Law.  Its not about works we accomplish.  It's our heart of love for Him that He is after. Oh that we would love our Lord with all that is in us! That very love would cause us to be able to do the second part of the verse very easily. When we truly love Him with all of our heart, soul and mind, it becomes very easy to obey Him, please Him, spend time with Him, be consumed with Him. Here's the truth. In order for us to love Him, we must know Him.  Think about it.  Can you truly love someone you do not know?  Impossible. But He has made a way for us to know Him intimately, through His Word. When you discover Him and know Him in the pages of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, as well as in the other precious books of the Bible, your heart will be consumed with love for Him and He himself will give you His love for others. So if we could stand face to face with Jesus today and ask Him, "Lord, what is the most important thing you want me to do?"  I believe He would say, My precious beloved one, I've already told you the greatest thing. It's in My Word in Matthew 22:37-39.  Of all we can  learn or achieve or accomplish or master in this life, let's learn to love Him well, and love others well. We can all, every one of us, master the art of loving our Lord well and loving well those that He loves. I pray that love would be the consuming motivation of our hearts. Jesus said this is the greatest thing.
